The Rural Alberta Advantage Share New Song

The Rural Alberta Advantage's Mended With Gold out 9/30; Share album's first single "On The Rocks" The Rural Alberta Advantage play 9/19 in Montreal

The Rural Alberta Advantage have unveiled another song from their upcoming third album Mended With Gold. Today, they premiered the single “On The Rocks. The twelve-track album was recorded at Toronto’s Candle Recording with the band’s long-time live engineer Matt Lederman (Hayden, !!!, Besnard Lakes) alongside co-producer Leon Taheny (Owen Pallett, Austra, F*cked Up).  A full list of tour dates can be found below.

“The song itself is an amalgamation of a lot of different memories and emotions,” says frontman Nils Edenloff, “But the heart of it centers around the acceptance of an ending relationship. I’m personally really happy with the chorus of the song: Our Hearts they were strong / Never made a sound / Our love was on the rocks / The day we let it out / Nothing going wrong / Nothing going down. There is a resignation to the chorus, but not in a hurtful way; it’s more an honest acceptance.”

In 2006 singer-songwriter Nils Edenloff, percussionist Paul Banwatt, and multi-instrumentalist Amy Cole came together to release their debut self-titled EP as The Rural Alberta Advantage. The ensuing years have brought two full-length albums (2008’s Hometowns and 2011’s Departing).
