PAPA share first single off new album

PAPA announce new album 'Kick At The Dust', share first single "Comfort's A Killer"

PAPA are happy to announce the upcoming release of their new album,
Kick At The Dust, on September 16 via Hit City U.S.A. Today they share the first single off the album, “Comfort’s A Killer”.

Kick At The Dust is the LA-based PAPA’s second full-length and marks a return to the Hit City U.S.A. label who released the band’s first EP in 2011. The duo is comprised of childhood friends Darren Weiss and bassist Danny Presant. Over the past five years PAPA has seen the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of the entertainment industry — having gone from D.I.Y. to the major leagues with varying woes and successes throughout. Back on an indie (by their own accord) Kick In The Dust is the end of that road and the start of the next. Through the album they are trying to get across that the idea how “success” actually means very little within a system built for a product rather than an artist. The album is somewhat a call to arms for the band.

Weiss said of “Comfort’s A Killer” “Seems to me that if you work hard enough for security and comfort in this live, you might get it. But after you do, you’ll probably look around, cross eyed with boredom and say, ‘What for?’ When a shark stops swimming forward it’s dead. Same goes for artists. And I ain’t no shark, man.”
