John K. Samson shares Churchill Travelogue

John K. Samson shares video footage from Churchill Travelogue.

In November, John K. Samson & The Winter Wheat travelled to Churchill, Manitoba, a remote community in the Canadian subarctic where, due to the sudden closure of the port, nearly 10% of residents are out of work. John and the band performed benefit concerts in both Winnipeg and Churchill to raise attention, food donations, and funds for Churchill’s Hungry Bears Food Bank.

“Churchillians endure long, cold winters and the Hungry Bears Food Bank needs your support to help our community make it through to spring. Please consider donating so we can provide an essential service to individuals and families in the community who may not have access to important food resources.” —Hungry Bears Food Bank

Thank you to everyone who has supported the food bank with food and monetary donations, as well as the work you have done to raise awareness.

The fundraiser was conceived by John Gunter, CEO of Frontiers North Adventures, and Belinda Fitzpatrick, owner of the Tundra Inn, who were looking for a way to help.
