Captured Tracks’ Announces Omnian Music Group

Captured Tracks Announce Omnian Music Group, Founded by Captured Tracks' Mike Sniper they welcome Couple Skate, Squirrel Thing family, new OMG act Sinderlyn

Omnian Music Group (OMG) is a brand new label group formed by Captured Tracks’ label owner/founder Mike Sniper. The goal of OMG is to further develop the preexisting imprints (Body Double, Fantasy Memory) and partnerships (Flying Nun) of Captured Tracks, while seeking out new partnerships with smaller, existing labels who would benefit from the larger OMG structure, as well as enacting new and older labels.

For this initial announcement, they welcome Seattle’s Couple Skate and New York’s Squirrel Thing to the OMG family as well as introduce Sinderlyn, the first new label under OMG.

To maintain both Couple Skate’s and Squirrel Thing’s label aesthetic, we will retain their internal structure. Ian Judd  will head Couple Skate in New York, while Andrew McKibbin remains in Seattle, and Dan Dzula and David Herman will continue to run Squirrel Thing.

Couple Skate’s inaugural releases as part of OMG include Weed, Mega Bog and FF, more info to follow shortly on Squirrel Thing’s upcoming releases.

The mantra of Sinderlyn, is that there is no mantra. Artists will be signed organically, the aesthetic will be loose and the formats varied (more EPs and 7”s than what Captured Tracks does). Ruben Mendez, previously of Hardly Art, will be heading up the label.

The initial releases on Sinderlyn include Walter TV (Pierce McGarvey of Mac DeMarco’s live band), Girl Tears and Vaguess.

More detailed information and release dates for the CS and Sinderlyn releases will be announced soon.
As for Captured Tracks, it will continue to stand as an independent label; the signing, production, release and distribution of its roster will not change. Internally the staff structure will shift, as roles readjust to efficiently manage OMG and its subsidiaries.
