Tomas Barfod has shared a the video for “Happy,” taken from the current EP Pulsing, out now on Secretly Canadian. The video features a lonely man dancing in an empty room, with his only partner being the beautifully timed flashing lights of the video. The track features Eddie Chacon of the ’80s pop duo Charles & Eddie, and was released earlier this month on Secretly Canadian on Pulsing. The EP precedes an additional album by Tomas Barfod, planned for release later this year. Tomas Barfod is also heading out on a brief North American tour, hitting New York, Philadelphia, Miami, and Los Angeles. Full tour dates above.
Back in the summer of 2012, Tomas Barfod released his debut solo album, the sophisticated blend of electronics that is Salton Sea. Lauded by the likes ofPitchfork, Dazed & Confused and Gorilla vs Bear, its success took Barfod slightly by surprise. Inspired by a move to LA and mainly written and recorded on the road, often in hotel rooms on his laptop, it was an album that was imbued with a sense of spontaneity and experimentation.
