Currently in the midst of worldwide tour, Rustie is sharing for free download an official chopped ‘n’ screwed edit of Green Language’s 1st single “Attak ft Danny Brown” premiered today on Complex.
Rustie recently contacted one of the primary sources of the chopped ‘n’ screwed sound, founder of Swisha House – Mike 5000 Watts – for alternative versions of his album Green Language. For as long as Glasgow has been known for it’s cult electronic music in the late 00’s, there’s been an afterparty culture that included Houston chopped ‘n’ screwed rap music. Since the delivery of his second LP, Rustie has emphasized that this is a fuzzier, dronier, more insular sounding record than Glass Swords – and these molten, tranquilized edits, emphasize the sheer noise that’s compressed into these Rustie originals.
