“Poor Man Dan” by Diane Coffee

Diane Coffee (aka Shaun Fleming) recently shared a new video for “Poor Man Dan”, the lead single off his PEEL 7″ out now on Polyvinyl. Premiering via a Style feature at Billboard.com, the mildly-NSFW video for “Poor Man Dan” was directed by Melinda Danielson and originates from her original art piece Natureswhether.

Fleming, who produced the video, explains: “When we first started thinking of a video, we knew we wanted to play on voyeurism. Something dark, more like an art piece than a traditional music video. By happenstance, my partner, Melinda, had created a piece, which was exhibited at a group show at the Grunwald Gallery in 2005, about suppressing the shadow side. We tried playing the song over the original VHS video and it gave us all chills. We added a few new shots, but mostly tried to leave it alone. It’s not to often you have an almost completed music video created years before the song, or even the band, came to fruition.”

Diane Coffee is confirmed to play select 2018 tour dates including January 19th at Chicago’s Tomorrow Never Knows Festival (see below for schedule). More dates will be announced soon. The PEEL 7″ is the follow-up to Coffe’s 2015’s Everybody’s A Good Dog LP (Western Vinyl)
