“Fault” by Hawai

Atmospheric indie rock band Hawai recently released their stripped down, live video of their song, “Fault.” The recording is part of their new upcoming series of releases, Live from the Red Room, featuring acoustic renditions of songs from their EP Working All Night released earlier this summer. Hawai will make their SXSW debut in March and have plans for another big release coming soon.

The Live from the Red Room collection started as Hawai had been working on stripped-back renditions of their songs from their debut EP, later approaching their friends in Switchfoot to use their private studio and record the session. In the original songs, recorded in Cold War Kid’s studio in San Pedro, CA with producer Lars Stalfors (Cold War Kids, Deap Vally), the band captured their native Southern California sound with gusts of guitars and keys, energetic beats and expansive vocals.

Hawai is Jake Pappas, Jesse Dorman, Jared Slaybaugh, and Matt Gillen.
