“Don’t Talk About You” by Geowulf

Following the recent news of their signing to label 37 Adventures and the meteoric success of debut track “Saltwater”, burgeoning pop duo Geowulf are pleased to share the video for their breezy, most-recent track “Don’t Talk About You”.

Shot in Berlin, the hazy ‘90s-inspired clip perfectly encapsulates the essence of the band. Melodic and reflective, “Don’t Talk About You” expands the duo’s feather-light beach vibes into something with noticeable breadth, brilliantly evoking the likes of Fleetwood Mac in all of its addictive, lovelorn glory.

Recorded with the producer Duncan Mills at the end of the summer, lead singer Star Kendrick elaborates:

“This song went through a geographical & creative metamorphosis over almost two years. We originally wrote it in Copenhagen, demo’ed it in Stockholm and then revisited it recently when Toma & I were both in London. I guess the song speaks for itself but ultimately it falls in the good ol’ “wanting-something-that-ain’t-good-for-you” vein …”

Geowulf is comprised of Star Kendrick and Toma Banjanin, who are based between London, Gothenburg and Berlin. Originally from Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, Star and Toma met in their teens. Despite both her parents being musicians, Star only really began pursuing her own musical aspirations three years ago and enlisted the help of Toma to bring the early demos to life.

Emanating hazy, summery sounds reminiscent of Best Coast or Mazzy Star, Geowulf’s debut offerings of “Saltwater” and “Don’t Talk About You” prove to be lush and melodic pop gems, a bright and uplifting introduction to a band that’s only just getting started.
