“Beggin” by Million Miles

Last year, Sophie Baudry seduced the North America with “Ice Cream & Cigarettes.” Her debut EP Berry Hill followed to an equal amount of love. Today, the French soul-singer continues the serenade via the ever-tasteful Mahogany Sessions. With a blend of emotional blues and airy pop listeners have learned to expect, and the help of an evocatively deep double bass, Million Miles delivers their cover of Franki Valli’s “Beggin’.”

Sophie Baudry was raised in Paris and lives in London but was trained at Boston’s famed Berklee College of Music. After returning to London, Baudry kept feeling the pull towards American Soul music- specifically the evocative voices of Ray Charles and Bill Withers. Baudry has a similar signature voice, one that’s amiable and full of melancholy all at once. So she set off for the U.S. to look for inspiration and to write and record in Nashville, TN. After a chance meeting, she headed in to the studio with songwriter/ producers Robin Eaton and Paul Ebersold
