Chicago’s Joan of Arc recently shared “Full Moon And Rainbo Repair,” a new song from their forthcoming album He’s Got The Whole This Land Is Your Land In His Hands out January 20th on Joyful Noise Recordings. “Full Moon And Rainbo Repair” is the third song to be released from the album and follows the videos for “This Must Be The Placenta”and “Stranged That Egg Yolk.”

Joan of Arc’s Tim Kinsella says, “Everyone that’s ever been in a band knows how funny the first, thrown-off, working title of a song can be compared to what that song evolves into. This song is forever known between us as “Jay Z.” The seed of the song was Melina’s first ever guitar riff. And we wanted to make a sort of love song to Chicago, anthem kind of thing. But it ended up tilting toward being a love song about Chicago. I imagine the man singing it somewhere between Steve Buscemi’s character on ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and Van Morrison’s Linden Arden.” Joan of Arc’s headlining U.S. tour begins January 24th, including shows in New York, Los Angeles, Portland, Austin, and more.

He’s Got The Whole This Land Is Your Land In His Hands
was written and produced by the band – Tim Kinsella, Bobby Burg, Theo Katsaounis, Melina Ausikaitis, and one of its earliest collaborators, Jeremy Boyle- and recorded live in various locations throughout Chicago.

Tim Kinsella explains the recording process: “We had to throw away the 38 songs I wrote that I thought I liked before we could really begin. We’d spend a full day setting up the instruments so that we could move freely between them. We’d record hour long jams with everyone constantly switching instruments. Then together we edited those down. Two of us had to learn Pro Tools. Once we had 16 distinct units, then me and Melina sat down and wrote the lyrics.”
