Forebear, is Scott Goldbaum (vocals, guitar), Nick Chamian (bass, vocals), Molly Rogers (viola, vocals, keyboards), and Mike Musselman (drums) weave together the expansive to dusky atmosphere of cinematic rock with alt-folk-sounding strings and vocal harmonies. The band aims to display to struggle between interpersonal crises and living in an age where global tensions loom overhead. Forebear puts into words and music the feelings that are often so difficult to express ourselves. Forebear’s forthcoming release Good God, out August 26th.

The band members met in early 2014 and are some of L.A.’s most prolific musicians. Scott Goldbaum (formerly of Wise Cub) leads the band with beautiful vocals and melodic guitar, while classically-trained Molly Rogers adds a captivating layer of viola and vocals.  Mike Mussleman (drums) and Nick Chamian (bass) round out the quartet with an impressive and methodical rhythm section.  Individually, the band members have worked with artists/bands including Feist, Kamasi Washington, and Kimbra.

Forebear caught the attention of famed producer and engineer Eric Liavois (Saint Motel, Atlas Genius) when he saw the band play at the legendary Troubadour. Liavois produced Forebear’s upcoming album, Good God, at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, which touches upon the darker side of the sunny promise of California. Goldbaum comments, “It’s about two people who moved to the West Coast to be together, only to have the illusion of what they thought waited for them be eaten alive by their false romanticism.”
