YAWN Shares New Track “Flytrap,” LP out 9/9

YAWN Shares their new single "Flytrap," from their forthcoming album 'Love Chills' Out September 9th via Old Flame Records, YAWN play release show 9/9

Chicago’s YAWN is gearing up to release their sophomore LP, Love Chills, on September 9th via Old Flame Records. Inspired by shaky romantic affairs, the cosmic, genre-bending album is like listening to the band’s own brand of electro-infused indie pop through a trippy, psychedelic filter. Featuring buzzing guitars and warbling synth, you can preview album track “Flytrap”below via Soundcloud. The band also put together an album teaser video, featuring snippets of various Love Chills tracks set to appropriately mind-bending images.

Since forming in 2009, YAWN’s experimental sound has drawn comparisons to the likes of Animal Collective, Yeasayer, and MGMT, but the band has managed to keep things fresh and forward-thinking. Much like 2011’s widely-praised Open SeasonLove Chills is simultaneously unconventional and accessible, mixing off-kilter psychedelia with infectious pop hooks. Its ten tracks take listeners on a journey through lush soundscapes, peppered with driving beats and hazy, blissful melodies.
Known for their wild, high-energy live show, YAWN has toured with bands like Tame Impala, The Kooks, Yuck, and Mates of State. Stay tuned for live dates & more new music from Love Chills!
