Last month London-based trio Yak released their debut album Alas Salvation, produced by Pulp’s Steve Mackey, to a slew of glowing reviews. Watch the video for “Use Somebody” below. Yak are expected to announce North American tour dates, in the near future.

On the writing of ‘Use Somebody’, Oli explains:
”
A few things were happening at the time we wrote it – a Malaysian airline went down and we were listening to Buddy Holly; we were also listening to The Stooges, and Steve Mackay the saxophone player had just died so we revisited a lot of the songs he played on. We realised how much we hadn’t gone off those records and how much of an influence they had been on us, so this is maybe a nod to those”.
