White Lung release “Kiss Me When I Bleed”

White Lung share new single "Kiss Me When I Bleed"

Today, White Lung have released another another single from their forthcoming full-length Paradise, out May 6th, via Domino Records. Front woman Mish Barber-Way explains, “‘Kiss Me When I Bleed’ is about pride. That kind of steadfast, I-don’t-give-a-fuck-I’m-in-love pride in that we all wish we had for someone. This song is my fairytale. Riches to rags and happily ever after because nothing else in this world really matters except love.” Synthesizers? Nope. That’s Kenny William’s guitar. He has reworked and re-pitched his parts resulting in what Annie Clark (St. Vincent) compares to evil mosquitos – a bit off and unsettling.

White Lung will tour extensively throughout the US and Canada summer. The band will kick the tour off on release day in Toronto, followed by a Record Release show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, NY. Other highlights include an appearance at the inaugural Panorama Festival, Montreal’s Osheaga Festival and Levitation in Vancouver.

For the making of Paradise, vocalist Mish Barber-Way, guitarist Kenneth William and drummer Anne-Marie Vassiliou reconnected in Los Angeles to work with producer Lars Stalfors (HEALTH, Cold War Kids, Alice Glass). In October of 2015, White Lung spent a month in the studio, working closely with Stalfors to challenge what could be done with their songs. Bringing all the energy, unique guitar work and lyrical prowess the band are known for to the studio, White Lung curated their songs with a new pop sensibility, focusing in on making a record for the present – “I wanted a record that sounded like it was made in 2016”, said William.
