Carmen Villain (aka London-based Carmen Hillestad) makes her way stateside in just over a week to play her debut show in NYC — Tue. April 23rd at Pianos — in support of her tempestuous album, Sleeper, out now on Smalltown Supersound. Throughout this record, Carmen shows her creative range and distinctive production style as she plasters dreamlike vocals over loose, abrasive instrumental tracks on which she plays guitar, bass, drum machines, keyboards and percussion. After hearing remixes by Prins Thomas (who also sequenced the album) and Optimo’s JD Twitch, now, get a further glimpse into Carmen Villain’s dark debut via the brand new video for album track, “Easy.”.
