Blanco signed Lanez to the imprint after being blown away by his mixtape Lost Cause. The two are currently in the studio working on Lanez’s debut album, slated for release on Mad Love/Interscope Records early next year.

“Say It” follows Lanez’s recent EP Cruel Intentions, a collaboration with cult LA label WEDIDIT featuring productions from RL Grime, Baauer, Shlohmo and D33J in addition to one track produced by Lanez andPlay Picasso. Lanez recently debuted the video for EP track “Acting Like.”  Lanez is also featured on “Lord Knows,” the opening track from Meek Mill’s latest release Dreams Money Can Buy.

Rapper, singer, songwriter and producer Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, rose to prominence following the release of his mixtapes Lost Cause, Conflicts of my Soul: The 416 Story and Chixtapes 1 and 2. Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Lanez currently lives in Miami.
