Curated by Todd Patrick, aka Todd P, and Mexican promoters NRMAL, the festival is a fiercely independent, all-ages and affordably priced event. Started in 2010, Festival NRMAL allows fans a rare opportunity to see the most exciting emerging bands and artists coming out of theunderground scenes in Mexico, USA, Chile, Canada, UK, Argentina, Costa Rica, Australia, Venezuela and Spain, creating a uniquely diverse coming-together of multilingual music cultures. “Monterrey is Mexico’s closest major city to the United States, yet because of restrictive USA immigration visa policies, many Latin American bands and music fans aren’t able to make it to the U.S. to attend festivals like SXSW,” says Todd Patrick. “Hosting a festival like FESTIVAL NRMAL over the border — in Mexico — has a special urgency to us, especially now.”

Festival NRMAL will also include art galleries curated by conceptual artists, as well as on-site installations and space interventions by national graphic and industrial designers, photographers, illustrators and urban artists. Plus a design and arts & crafts market, and a collection of Mexican zines and self-edited publications for sale.
