Video Director James Hankins explains how the video came about; “Kate was very keen on the video involving water and wanted quite a dark feel to it. Seeing as her and Rozi both love wild swimming we thought we’d go for a paddle in some lakes. Of course, on the day we decided to shoot the video there were terrible downpours which meant filming became really quite tricky. It quickly became clear that this was gonna change the feel of the video which we kind of embraced. They were brilliant and really threw themselves into everything. Looking back i probably left them in that lake a bit too long though.

I’ve known Kate & Rozi for quite a while now and we’ve worked together on a few other videos so i knew whatever happened it was gonna be a good laugh and that’s exactly what it was, hopefully you can tell. I’ve gotta mention our great little crew who battled on in the rain, including a drone pilot who was a lot of fun to work with. Our good friend Sam Wisternoff then created some underwater animation and washes which i think gave it some added energy. It feels like this video is definitely a collaborative effort, thanks team.” This Is The Kit is the musical project which holds exceptional Paris-via- Bristol songwriter Kate Stables close to its heart – have earned the adoration of peers including Guy Garvey, The National and Sharon van Etten. Their new album and Rough Trade debut, ‘Moonshine Freeze’ was Produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, M Ward, Perfume Genius), it began in the immediate wake of its predecessor, ‘Bashed Out’, when days after coming off tour last November, Stables and her band (Rozi Plain, Jamie Whitby-Coles, Neil Smith and Jesse D Vernon) headed into Geoff Barrow’s Invada studios in Bristol. Aaron Dessner of The National also features on six of the tracks.
