The Postal Service Goes Platinum


The Postal Service’s universally acclaimed 2003 album, Give Up, is now a certified platinum record. It is only the second ever; Released to go platinum for Sub Pop. on February 9, 2003, ‘Such Great Heights’ came out. The single “Such Great Heights,” hit #114 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and has since sold 1,067, 087 copies in North America. The album is Sub Pop’s second biggest seller in it’s history, only Nirvana’s ‘Bleach’ has sold more.
Both Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello (as Dntel) recorded albums this year:  Gibbard’s solo outing, Former Lives, was released via Barsuk Records earlier this month;  Dntel’sAimlessness was released this past June on Pampa Records.
