The Luyas Announce Fall Tour Dates, including European dates with Destroyer Release New Video for “Fifty Fifty”

The Luyas are preparing to hit the road again in support of their new record Animator, out October 16th on Dead Oceans. The band will play shows along the east coast and head back up North to tour their homeland, Canada, before heading off to Europe. See their full tour schedule below.

When creating the video for their first single, “Fifty Fifty,” The Luyas teamed up with long time collaborator Derrick Belcham. Explaining the core of the concept, Belcham notes the video “explores the negotiation of the barrier between the intangible powers on either side of our selves that mold our malleable personae. The border between lovers which can be so violent in its shifting, the pressurized membrane between self and environment, the unseen war of logic and belief, each fights and gains or surrenders territory, shifting the border to occupy or abandon space and, in so doing, changes us.”

With choreography directed by Montreal’s Katie War, the video is as dramatic as it is symbolic, a perfect complement to the edgy and beautiful song, which you can check out here.

The Luyas will also be attending this year’s CMJ Festival, with the full schedule to be announced shortly.
