The Japanese House on ‘Records In My Life’

Amber Bain, the 20 year old London native behind the moniker The Japanese House, was kind enough to guest on a recent episode of Records In My Life, prior to her captivating Vancouver show at The Cobalt back in December alongside The Big Moon. Bain’s 2015 releases came in the form of Pools To Bathe In and the Clean EP’s, while 2016 brought the Swim Against The Tide EP into the world.

She made further strides this past year by embarking on her second ever UK tour – following her October 2015 debut sold-out run – and heading overseas for the first time with shows in Europe, U.S and Australia.

While we chatted at with Amber at The American pub across the street from the venue, she let us in on a few of her earliest musical recollections and offered a couple recommendations for us to check out as well.

The Japanese House on Records In My Life references the following albums:
1. ELO – Greatest Hits
2. The Beatles – 1
3. Beach House – Teen Dream
4. Dirty Projectors – Swing Lo Magellan
