Today, Spoon shared details of their forthcoming ninth album Hot Thoughts, set for release on March 17 through Matador Records. Spoon have also shared the title track “Hot Thoughts”, which you can listen to below.

Reuniting the band with the label that released their 1996 debut, Telephono, Hot Thoughts was co-produced by Spoon and Dave Fridmann. Having recently sneak previewed Hot Thoughts material in a surprise hometown warm-up show, Spoon has also confirmed a three-night release week SXSW residency for which the band will resurrect the original, classic Austin venue Emo’s location, currently referred to as “The Main” on March 14, 15 and 16. The band will curate a unique line up each night and will stubbornly be referring to the venue as “Eno’s”.

Spoon are also set to play Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, Spain on July 7 and Panorama Festival in New York, NY on July 28.
