Spookyland Premiere New Track ‘Bulimic’

Sydney Rock N’ Rollers Spookyland, have revealed ‘Bulimic’ as the first taste from their forthcoming debut album. A six-minute crescendo of brittle rock and roll, ‘Bulimic’ sees the band come out of their mid-western studio with a harrowing prayer for the outsiders of the world. Premiered on Noisey, ‘Bulimic’ portrays Spookyland’s entire spectrum, incredible vocal delivery matched only with a raw energy tipping them as Australia’s next rock exports.

Speaking of the message behind the song, Gordon elaborates “Bulimic is mostly a song about social friction I think, when there’s chaos in your mind, there’s a certain impulse to hurl the whole thing into the toilet bowl to find some kind of self-esteem, but this kind of program is basically doomed. Bulimia of one’s humanity…”

Bulimic is the first single released from the band since joining the Play It Again Sam roster. With the experience of their ‘Rock And Roll Weakling’ EP under their belt, the band entered Conor Oberst’s Nebraskan recording studio, Another Recording Company to begin work on their debut full-length effort. “Bulimic” also comes with a recently released lyric video, which can be seen below.

Spookyland is made up of Marcus Gordon, Liam Gordon, Nath Mansfield, and Nic Malouf.

The band also has two upcoming shows for the last little remainder of this year, as follows:

Dec 18 Black Bear Lodge, Brisbane, Australia
Dec 19 The Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo, Melbourne, Australia
