Son Lux Debuts New Video, Touring This Fall

SON LUX REVEALS VIDEO FOR "LOST IT TO TRYING (MOUTHS ONLY LYING)"

Today, Son Lux is sharing its new video for “Lost It To Trying (Mouths Only Lying)” off its recent Alternate Worlds EP, out now via Joyful Noise Recordings. Director Imogen Murphy noted that “the lush musical production and beautifully layered melody merited an intense narrative. The song is full of melancholy emotion so the treatment had to go deep and dark. The film shows a couple in a disintegrating relationship, unable to move on because of the weight of mutual negativity they carry.”

Son Lux will soon embark on west coast US tour starting on September 19 at The Roxy in Los Angeles and concluding on September 24 at the Decibel Festival in Seattle. Throughout these dates, Helado Negro will open in support of his new album Double Youth.  Following those shows, the group will start a string of European dates, including shows with White Hinterland and Cloud Boat. The current list of tour dates can be found below.

The tour follows the recent release of the Alternate Worlds EP, which featured reimagined versions of the tracks from LanternsIn addition to “Lost It To Trying (Mouths Only Lying),”Alternate Worlds features a collaboration with Lorde on “Easy (Switch Screens),” which came to be after the New Zealand singer began covering the original version live.

Beyond releasing Alternate Worlds and worldwide touring, Son Lux recently produced and mixed Balance Problems, the upcoming album from acclaimed chamber ensemble yMusic, due September 30th via New Amsterdam. He also released an album with Sisyphus, his collaborative project with Sufjan Stevens and rapper Serengeti, whose self-titled debut was released on March 18th via Joyful Noise / Asthmatic Kitty. Additionally, Lott is a featured songwriter, producer and performer on “Troubled World” off WinterSpringSummerFall, the new mixtape from Beyonceproducer BOOTSSon Lux also recently scored the upcoming film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, due this month. Lott, equal parts producer and composer, has been delving into further collaborations as Son Lux.
