NXNE announces second wave of bands

NXNE Music has confirmed  Social Distortion and Outkast rapper Big Boi will headline free shows at Yonge-Dundas Square (YDS). The NXNE Music line-up also includes performances at YDS and in the clubs by Toronto’s Fucked Up, Montreal-based chanteuse Coeur De Pirate, hip hop duo Smif N’ Wessun, genre-crossing experimentalists WHY?, San Francisco post-punkers The Soft Moon, British guitar band Peace, melodic punks White Lung, chillwave trio DIANA, noise rock trio Nü Sensae, heavy psych group Destruction Unit, music and performance artists Majical Cloudz, pop shoegazers Still Corners, Copenhagen punk band Lower, electro-rockers Moon King, jazz-rock fusionists Lean Left featuring Andy Moor, Terrie Ex, Ken Vandermark and Paal Nilssen-Love, and indie rockers Blinker the Star performing for the first time in ten years. Previously announced acts for NXNE Music include The National, Joey Bada$$, Merchandise, Iceage, Mikal Cronin, Milk Music, Buke & Gase, Mickey Avalon, Supersuckers, Imperial State Electric and Genetic Control.

The NXNE Spotlight Series will feature FLAG (original members Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Bill Stevenson, Dez Cadena with Stephen Egerton performing The Music of Black Flag) at The Opera House on Friday, June 14. Calexico will rock the Mod Club on Wednesday, June 12 and Millencolin will perform at The Phoenix on Saturday, June 15.
