Nils Frahm Returning To North America

Nils Frahm Returning To North America This Fall, Launches New Website. Nils Frahm starts his North American tour on November 6th at the Showbox in Seattle

Fresh off his sold-out North American ‘Spaces’ Tour this Spring, the Berlin-based composer Nils Frahmannounces his intent to return to North America for a larger tour this fall.

“Touring the US again?  Hope my folks at home wont get jealous, but it is just starting to become some serious fun! Expect me to return with more crazy ideas about how to wreck an old New York Steinway and more tips: how to manage traveling UNITED AIRLINES. There will be more half broken tape delays, overclocked synths and hopefully I can score another silly drum computer. I am very much looking forward!

Plus, if you want me back, I am coming. See you soon.”

Known for his passionate approach to the piano which sees him perform with one hand on the grand or upright piano, the other on a Fender Rhodes or Juno synthesiser, Nils creates a unique combination of sound that is both hypnotic and intimate. Berlin-based pianist Nils Frahm has become known for his unconventional approach to an age-old instrument as well as his collaborations and production work for contemporaries such as Ólafur Arnalds, Peter Broderick and most recently Sarah Neufeld of Arcade Fire. After his first solo piano works Wintermusik and The Bells, the album was followed by Screws, a free birthday gift to his fans he recorded while recovering from a thumb injury. Frahm has quickly become known for his live performances that showcase a unique combination of piano motifs on the upright, grand piano and Rhodes with heavy synthesiser sounds. Being called to perform at electronic events like Mutek, Boiler Room, Primavera and Decibel, as much as traditional concert spaces like Hackney Empire and the Royal Opera House.
