Metronomy share “Hang Me Out To Dry” video

Metronomy release new video for "Hang Me Out To Dry" featuring Robyn, new album 'Summer 08' out now through Because Music

Combining the talents of Metronomy with those from Robyn, “Hang Me Out To Dry” has been accompanied by a new music video. The track is featured on the current
Metronomy album Summer 08, released on July 1, 2016 through Because Music.

Directed by Paris / Montreal filmmaking collective Dent de Cuir (The Shoes, Darwin Deez, Modeselektor), the video follows the tumultuous emotions of a woman who finds that her car reminds her of a failed relationship.

Dent de Cuir commented: “A great man of cinema once said: ‘All you need to make a movie is a girl and a gun.’ We just swapped the gun for a car. This concept offered a great metaphor: love is just a car ride. But let’s cut the crap here, we did all of this for one reason: to put a check mark over ‘burning a 70s Dodge Aspen’ on our bucket list. We were surprised to see how simple it was to play with the practical image distortions on a car, and we also learnt that firefighters are the most efficient pyromaniacs in the world.”

“Hang Me Out To Dry” was originally written during sessions for Metronomy’s Mercury Prize-nominated album English Riviera in 2011 but only recently reached its full potential when Mount revisited the track and enlisted Robyn’s expertise.
