Listen to a new track “Timtar” from Bombino

Bombino shares his new single "Timtar", the track is off his forthcoming release 'Azel'

Nigerien guitarist Bombino has shared a brand new track today, “Timtar (Memories).” The groove-laiden track features elements of what Bombino is calling “Tuareggae” style: the one drop drums, the call & response, and a hint of skank guitar. The lyrics poetically deep-dive into a relationship in crisis:

My girlfriend where are our memories, our intimate memories?
What is the value of a relationship when it separates two connected hearts?
My brother I want you to advise and console me because my lover has gone and left me alone
From this day, I decided to avoid a physical love
My friends, What, What do you advise me?
My girlfriend where are our memories, our intimate memories?

After performing at SXSW, Bombino hits the road on an extensive US tour throughout March and April. He’ll play Africa Now! at the Apollo on March 26, Slingshot Festival in Athens, and Big Ears in Knoxville. A full set of dates is below.

Bombino’s forthcoming release Azel, was produced with Dave Longstreth (of Dirty Projectors), will be released on April 1, 2016 on Partisan Records.
