Listen to new single from Terribly Yours

Terribly Yours shares "No Genius,"

Terribly Yours, is the New project of Brooklyn’s Sean Bones, today, he is releasing his new single “No Genius,” described as a dysfunctional break up song with a nod to OMD and The Cars.

Last year Sean Bones put away the maracas and started jamming at home with a drum machine. The decision was influenced in part by certain life changes (ahem… fatherhood) and the excess of baby gear piling up in spaces that used to fit band mates. Ever adaptive, he took the opportunity to work alone – juxtaposing synths, pop and a new wave of “whoa!” crashing all around. This project would be called Terribly Yours.

The list of songs grew and so did the time since Sean shared new work. “It started to feel like I was sound tracking a movie no one would see. The songs were special to me and without a regular group of musicians involved, I became apprehensive about releasing anything. I’ve always had some kind of plan. Here I felt I only had a sound, which I described as terribly mine.”

He eventually found musical collaborators for the project including mixer Nate Martinez, Matt Mondonile (Real Estate, Ducktails), Drew Fischer (Kevin Morby, White Fence), and others. Late last year the first single from Terribly Yours was released titled “Answered Prayers” via Mermaid Ave (Hinds, Tei Shi). A bizarre music video that captures our man dancing his way through Macy’s.

Expect o see, more music from Terribly Yours starting with the single “No Genius.” The song began with a lyric idea that came to him “on the way back to the market after forgetting apple sauce or something. I’m always dissing myself on these walks of shame.”
