Krown & Lock stream new track "Chameleon",

Two veterans of Vancouver’s house music scene join forces as Krown & Lock and deliver their debut release the Chameleon Ep, a diverse collection of laid-back grooves. The title track features the vocal stylings of Esette (aka Isis Graham) and is remixed by Chicago legend Johnny Fiasco. Chilled-house tracks ‘Summersby’ & ‘Tango’ round-out the ep, the latter with a jackin’ remix from talented Toronto producer Don Sizzle.

Vancouver deejay Steve Lui aka Krown has been a fixture on the local scene for two decades. Having shared the stage with Marques Wyatt, The Martinez Brothers and Mr. V to name only a few, Krown recently began to focus his musical energies into production. Enter Simon Lock, longtime friend and front man for the Canadian live house band Terrace.

Their collective experience and deep roots in the music shine through on Chameleon Ep, a title that tips its hat to the infamous Vancouver 1990s nightclub — an early base camp for Nordic Trax & label owner Luke McKeehan. Calgary producer & deejay Esette (aka Isis Graham) has played an instrumental role in shaping Calgary’s dance music landscape. With over 30 releases and support from the likes of Maceo Plex, Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Pezzner & many more, Esette has become a regular fixture on the festival circuit, including recent appearances at Bass Coast, WMC, Decibel Festival and Amsterdam Dance Event.

Chicago legend Johnny Fiasco has one of the deepest discographies in house music with over 200 production credits spanning 25 years. His classic releases can be found on seminal labels Trax, Cajual, 83 West, Large, Om Records, Pamplemousse, Defected, and so many others. In 2012 he released I Want It Ep [NT072] on Nordic Trax and has been is a long-time supporter of the label. We are huge fans and happy to welcome him back to the label.
