After releasing his 0.001% ??? (which includes previously unreleased material from Joey Bada$$, Anderson .Paak and Nick Murphy) last week, KAYTRANADA is back today to share the video for “YOU’RE THE ONE,” the Syd-featuring highlight from his debut album 99.9%. The Shomi Patwary-directed clip is inspired by KAYTRANADA’s favorite childhood programming.

Speaking to the video’s creative origins, Patwary shares, “Stylistically it was influenced by the look of black sitcoms from the early 90s — from Martin to Living Single and UPN sitcoms. The African prince idea derived from the plot of Coming To America.”

The video is vastly different from Patwary’s visuals for Beyoncé or A$AP Rocky, the result is something both immediately familiar but entirely new. Watch the video for “YOU’RE THE ONE” above now and see below for all of KAYTRANADA’s upcoming tour dates.
