Hoops share new single “Gemini”

Hoops share new single "Gemini". The track comes off the bands forthcoming self-titled release, out August 26th.

Hoops, have announced they will release their self-titled debut EP next month. The band are sharing a taste, streaming the second single and EP-closer “Gemini.” This song written by band member Kevin Krauter and Keagan Beresford. The guys have been busy this year, touring with and opened for Whitney, Twin Peaks, Porches, and more. See below to find an upcoming show near you, including headline dates and support shows with Whitney and Car Seat Headrest. The self-titled EP – which Hoops self-recorded, produced and mixed – will be out on August 26th on Fat Possum Records.

What began as frontman Drew Auscherman’s solo ambient project, Hoops became a quartet in 2014. Named for hoop houses in the greenhouses which Auscherman used to work in high school, Hoops draw on influences from Prefab Sprout and The Clientele, and recall the idea of breezy afternoons and sticky summer nights in both name and sound. The fuzzy, summer-primed Hoops EP follows the band’s first releases, Tapes #1-3.

Hoops is: Drew Auscherman (vox, guitar), Kevin Krauter (vox, bass), Keagan Beresford (vox, keys, guitar), and James Harris (drums)
