GEMS have shared a dramatic new video for “Sinking Stone” as an exclusive short film, directed by BRTHR. The clip is an “epic, feverish love tale” starring the notorious ATL Twins as it explores dangerous, explosive, stimulating young love from an intensely visual perspective courtesy of BRTHR. The directing duo have an electrifying aesthetic whose work can be seen in videos for Jessie Ware, Angel Haze, MS MR, and Miley Cyrus’ live American Music Awards performance for “Wrecking Ball” in 2013.
In addition to the release of “Sinking Stone,” GEMS are excited to announce a headlining hometown show at DC’s U Street Music Hall on Thursday, November 13th with support from Tei Shi and VÉRITÉ – tickets are available here.
GEMS have developed their own brand of intoxicating, cinematic pop that is at once, both deeply heartbreaking and romantic. Last year’s Medusa EP weaves a dark web of intimate male and female vocals, hazy guitars and lush synthesizers, with songs that are tragic, haunting, and tinged with melancholy and existential longing. Look for more music from the duo soon.
