French For Rabbits are sharing another track from their forthcoming debut LP today. You can stream and share “Hard Luck Stories”. Spirits will see release on the venerable Lefse imprint this October 28th. Much like their previous “Goat” 7″ released earlier this year, the bare production of “Hard Luck Stories” reveals a weather-worn, rustic, and folk-tinged embrace of minimalist dream-pop. Delicately somber musical passages weave in and out of Brooke Singer’s fragile delivery, her voice floating hauntingly throughout the music. The band is currently solidifying plans to tour North America, but in the meantime, listeners in Europe will have ample opportunity to see them play. See below for dates.

Hailing from New Zealand, haunting dream-pop duo French For Rabbits have been quietly building a reputation around the world for their growing collection of songs clouded in eerie instrumentation, and sea-misted lyricism. French For Rabbits so far have toured through Germany, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, and the UK with festival appearances at Secret Garden Party, The Great Escape, and the Wilderness Festival along the way. Brooke Singer, who is the fragile voiced songstress and writer for the duo, began performing with guitarist John Fitzgerald in 2011. The band hopes to hit US shores sometime in the new year.
