FORM Arcosanti, the intimate music and arts festival curated by experimental pop band Hundred Waters (this year with assistance from Moses Sumney), announced the full three-day artist schedule as well as additional curated programming details for its fourth consecutive year May 12-14, 2017 at Arcosanti, an experimental eco-city and architectural landmark in the Arizona desert. The full performance and programming schedule, including curated panels, discussions, screenings and creative activations by partners like Saint Heron, Pathway to Paris, Planned Parenthood.

Along with artist performances from Solange, a James Blake solo piano set, Father John Misty, Future Islands, Skrillex, Deafheaven, Tycho, Kelela, Mitski, Omar Souleyman, Moses Sumney, new music by Hundred Waters, and more, FORM Arcosanti’s 2017 programming incorporates themes of environmental awareness, social justice, and activism through creativity. This year’s programming includes:

* Pathway to Paris, a collection of academics, musicians, politicians, and innovators coming together to fight for climate justice, will host panels and performances drawing attention to environmental changes and injustices through art, music, and discussion.

* Planned Parenthood will partner with FORM on their first-ever experiential music festival activation including a panel on technology, social justice, and activism, as well as VR screenings of their film “Across the Line”.

* Saint Heron, a community of genre defying artists and fans united with a mission to celebrate diversity and the innovation of artists of color through music, art and culture, will host a multidisciplinary experience on-site featuring musical experiences and live artist talks, including a moment of reflection through Soul Cleansing and a musically botanical experience entitled The Secret Life of Plants.

* Phoenix Art Museum, the largest art museum in the Southwestern United States, will present visual and installation art, including Animal Land by Lauren Strohacker and Kendra Sollars and interactive art by Phoenix-based artist Andy Brown.

* Screenings of films handpicked by Senior Programmer of Sundance Film Festival, Charlie Sextro, include 2017’s Chasing Choral, an examination of the tragic transformation of coral reefs due to carbon emissions; and Whose Streets?, an unflinching look at the Ferguson uprising told by activists and leaders of the movement for justice.

FORM Arcosanti 2017 will also host hiking, stargazing with The Phoenix Astronomical Society, scenic yoga, and immersive art installations including a massive scale land art installation by artist Jim Denevan; a Paolo Soleri-inspired canyon installation from collective Elestial Sound; and an ENVELOP 360° 3D sound space installation.

FORM was founded by the Hundred Waters family in response to their experiences performing at music festivals around the globe. While most festivals amassed large audiences, the group found that any meaningful intimacy, time for collaboration, and connection to the festival’s environments were often left to the wayside. The founders envisioned something more personal, collaborative, lean, and lasting. Visiting Arcosanti for the first time, they knew they had found the first home for such an experience. An application-only festival, a diverse community of creators is empowered to participate in FORM by choosing participants for their creativity, thoughtfulness and intention. The program includes performances, discussions, workshops, installations, technologies and activities that celebrate creativity.
