Fever The Ghost have announced their new album “Zirconium Meconium” which is out September 25th on Complicated Game (US)/Heavenly Recordings (UK). “Zirconium Meconium” comes on the heels of the Crab In Honey EP, which received much adulation from critics and peers alike. (Wayne Coyne affectionately saying about the EP in Mojo, ‘They’re great musicians but don’t give a fuck about that, they just love a drum machine for the sound.'”

In just the last year, the Los Angeles-based band has toured extensively with the likes of The Flaming Lips, Sean Lennon, and a recently wrapped east coast run with Temples. The band also contributed to last year’s Beatles’ tribute “A Little Help From My Friends,” curated by Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.

“Listening to this Fever The Ghost record [Zirconium Meconium]…it sounds like Rush making a version of Satanic Majesties Request…Only yeah, it’s 1968 and The Rolling Stones don’t make Satanic Majesties Request — Rush do. And Rush are like 13 years old. So if you don’t know who Rush are that’s ok and you may not know The Rolling Stones record I’m talkin’ about and that’s ok — so yeah, this Fever The Ghost record, like them, is just not of this dimension. I can’t tell why they are doin what they are doing. They are maybe meant to actually be a video game and accidentally became a futuristic rock group. Or they are a cartoon that is animated so good you can’t tell they’re not real. I’ve met and played with them and it seemed like, when I was in close proximity to them, I was in a storybook…a tragic storybook trying to turn triumphant and becoming paranoid and then happy…Not fucked up though. It would not surprise me if next time I see them they have become insects that are building a spaceship for the butterfly president that assassinates himself..” –Wayne Coyne, The Flaming Lips
