Desert Daze Festival 2014 is just around the corner! To celebrate the much-anticipated event, we are pleased to share a trippy new promo video directed by Anthony Ferrara. In typical DD fashion, the video is visually stimulating, fun and psychedelic.

Desert Daze Festival 2014 has a killer lineup this year with live performances by Blonde Redhead, The Raveonettes, DIIV, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Liars, Vincent Gallo, Autolux and more. The one-day, one-night boutique music festival takes place on Saturday April 26 at Sunset Ranch Oasis in Mecca, CA (69-520 South Lincoln Street, Mecca, CA 92254).

This venue is located 2.5 Hours SE of Los Angeles and 25 minutes from Indio. A  limited number of tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here. Desert Daze prides itself on making your festival experience a comfortable one. Capacity is very limited, there are virtually no lines and festival-goers have the freedom to wonder around the majestic property. Campgrounds are new and improved with easier parking, less dust and more space. All general camping at Desert Daze is now located in a beautiful dry lakebed with a moon like landscape perfect for pitching a tent and stretching out!

Desert Daze is an independent artist-run one-day, one-night camping music festival. Festival director, Phil Pirrone is a member of JJUUJJUU, and Julie Edwards a member of Deap Vally. Moon Block staff manager, Ryan Clark has been on the road as long as Pirrone and more than half of the 100+ returning staff are musicians and artists. Pirrone built the festival from scratch 3 years ago with friends after touring for nearly 15 years in various musical projects.
In 2012, Moon Block Party created Desert Daze and unintentionally hosted one of the world’s longest consecutive day music festivals. Over 120 acts played on 2 stages and physically rocked a roadhouse in the desert for eleven straight days and nights. Past 2012 performers included Akron Family, Dengue Fever, Gaslamp Killer, Dead Meadow and Crystal Antlers, to name a few.

In 2013, the festival moved to a completely outdoor venue and invited guests to camp overnight. It was the first time the festival featured an international act, Tinariwen from Mali, who traveled from one desert to another to close out the festival surrounded by mountain ranges, palm trees and three gorgeous lakes. Other notable acts from 2013 included Warpaint, Chelsea Wolfe and Fool’s Gold. Check out footage from last year’s festival here.
