Sub Pop will release CLPPNG, the label debut from Los Angeles rap group clipping., on CD / LP / DL June 9th in Europe and June 10th in North America via Sub Pop. The album is led by the single “Work Work” (feat. Cocc Pistol Cree) along with highlights “Tonight” (feat. Gangsta Boo), “Summertime” (feat. King T), and “Or Die” (feat. Guce). CLPPNG was produced by the group, mixed by Steve Kaplan and mastered by Brian “Big Bass” Gardner at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles.   Please find a complete tracklistings below.

clipping. have scheduled a series of tour dates that will act as preview for CLPPNG. The trek spans from March 12th in Austin, TX at Hotel Vegas (Volstead Inside) and currently ends on July 4th Weekend at Sasquatch. Additional highlights include: March 12th-15th in Austin, TX for SXSW; April 30th in Krems an der Donau, AT for the Donaufestival; And June 12th-14th in Barcelona, ES at Sonar Festival. Before 2013’s Midcity, the trio of rapper Daveed Diggs and producers Jonathan Snipes and William Hutson did not expect to find an audience for their abrasive brand of rap music. But since the formation of clipping. and the release of their debut album, the field of commercial music enlarged ever so slightly, making room again for noisier, more adventurous elements in electronic production. Examples of this have been incremental, mere baby steps, so far. And despite clipping.’s insistence that they’re really just making rap— not noise-rap, industrial-rap, or any other mashup genre— their music might be more sonically challenging than that of the punkish rap rockers, lo-fi bedroom producers, and street goth hybridists they’ve been lumped with so far.
