Burger Records Announces Benefit Show

Burger Records Benefit

Burger Records is known for their benefit comps, and it’s something that makes the label so special. As they say on their website, “It feels good to do good!” Previously releasing The Kitty Comp to benefit an ailing cat and The Weiner Dog Comp to aide, well, you get the idea, the label is super proud to release a compilation benefiting hardcore punk legend Mike Atta, who is battling cancer. Mike Atta is the guitarist and a founding member of one of the first hardcore punk bands, The Middle Class. Legend has it that Keith Morris started Black Flag after seeing The Middle Class play one of their early shows. Atta currently owns a vintage shop in Fullerton called Out Of Vogue, right around the corner from Burger, and has become a close friend, so his health is something the Burger Records folks hold near and dear to their hearts. To help raise money for Atta’s mounting medical bills, Burger is helping to put on a benefit show THIS FRIDAY, JAN. 25TH, AT THE ECHOPLEX IN LOS ANGELES, and releasing a compilation the following day on their website. All the money from other Burger merch sold at the show will go to Mike Atta as well.

Included on the compilation is a PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED SONG BY THE MIDDLE CLASS. The song “Body and Soul” was recorded during the 1981 sessions that gave us The Middle Class’s only full-length, Homeland. We’re happy to share it with you and hope you can spread the word about this amazing show and compilation, and help Mike get healthy!
