Braids unveils video for “Bunny Rose”

BRAIDS UNVEILS VIDEO FOR "BUNNY ROSE", EMBARKS ON MONTH-LONG EUROPEAN TOUR INCLUDING ATP

Montreal band, Braids, continues its busy year with a new animated
video – the third from their latest album Deep In The Iris. Tomorrow they
begin a European tour, which includes appearances at Iceland’s Airwaves and
ATP Festival’s Nightmare Before Christmas.

last month Braids premiered another video “Taste”, the Montreal trio
delivers another captivating visual, with the video for “Bunny
Rose”, an animated piece created by Irish director Stephen McNally. An up
and coming illustrator, animation director, and graphic designer, McNally is
known to the music world for his work with Youth Lagoon, and the video for
their song “Raspberry”.

The video’s formal concerns neatly mirror the basic framework for much of
Braids’ music on Deep In The Iris; the album captures the band’s
penchant for blending vibrantly kinetic, organic sounds with the crisp touch
of digital technology. The video takes a similar approach: a translucent
human figure stalks their way through a variety of abandoned urban locales,
unencumbered by interaction with others and bathed in the dim light of dawn.
The “Bunny Rose” video, like the song it accompanies, is created from a few
simple ingredients, but its structural modesty does nothing to stand in the
way of delivering a shimmering, intimate sensory experience.

Tomorrow, Braids will be returning to Europe for a 16-date tour and a visit
to ATP. Fresh off a North American run with Tasseomancy, the band is
thrilled to be returning overseas once again. Highlights this time around
include appearances at Iceland Airwaves, and the All Tomorrow’s Parties 2.0
Nightmare Before Christmas 2015, curated by Jake and Dinos Chapman.
