Today, Black Mountain share “Mothers of the Sun,” the lead-single and first video off their forthcoming album, IV (out 4/1 on Jagjaguwar). It comes to us in the form of a weird clip, containing a four-armed Stephen McBean, a ceremonial dagger, prisoners bound in chains, and too many expressions of insanity to list here. The song itself is one that lingered in the practice space for years before finding its way onto a Black Mountain album, or as McBean puts it, “Sometimes a riff hangs out in the basement for 10 years before it’s finally ready to hit the streets.” Watch the video below and replenish your nightmare fuel.
