Hailing from Israel and influenced by both the ’80s and ’90s Israeli underground scenes as well as shoegaze acts from different eras and locales, Vaadat Charigim began in 2012. The trio included Tel-Aviv natives Yuval Haring on guitar and vocals, drummer Yuval Guttmann, and bassist Dan Bloch. The band’s lyrics were all sung in Hebrew and the name roughly translated to “Exceptions Committee.” They worked on their debut recordings with producer Kyle Johnson, famed for his work with bands like Modest Mouse and Wavves. The album The World Is Well Lost was tracked by the band and Johnson in a Tel-Aviv apartment and saw release in late 2013.
